What is the Plant Conservation Alliance (PCA)?
"The PCA is a consortium of ten US federal government Member agencies and over 270 non-federal Cooperators representing various disciplines within the conservation field: biologists, botanists, habitat preservationists, horticulturists, resources management consultants, soil scientists, special interest clubs, non-profit organizations, concerned citizens, nature lovers, and gardeners. PCA Members and Cooperators work collectively to solve the problems of native plant extinction and native habitat restoration, ensuring the preservation of our ecosystem."I've mentioned it before, but it's worth pointing out again, that the PCA has a few must-subscribe email lists:
-Main Announcements
-Restoration Working Group
-Alien Plant Working Group (APWG)
Part discussion groups and part Olivia Kwong's generous media clipping service :), awesome stuff crosses these lists that I just wouldn't know about otherwise. And yes, although it's out of the US the information is often relevant in Ontario.
